By the end of the 1921 regular, Babe Ruth had established himself as the gameís greatest slugger. Ruth was 26 and already baseballís all-time homerun leader. He would go on to break his own record another 500 times before he hung up his spikes, but in October 1921, Ruth was playing in his first World Series as a New York Yankee in the first World Series for the storied franchise. Presented is a Harry M. Stevens Game 4 program to the October 9th game at the Polo Grounds. All the games of the 1921 series were played at the Polo Grounds as it was home to both teams during the regular season. The program has been scored and displays the first World Series long ball struck by the Bambino in the ninth inning of the game. The 16-page artifact is in good condition exhibiting normal signs of wear on an eighty-five year old publication. There is a centerfold crease and wear along the edges. There are some mild imperfections on the cover, including light creases and spotting but overall the issue is quite collectible. The cover feature the two Hall of Fame managers, McGraw and Huggins with the interior pages depicting Ruth as well as Frankie Frisch, George Kelly, Dave Bancroft, Wally Pipp and Waite Hoyt. Simply put, this is a must-have program for all genres of the industry.
