An incredible assemblage of (10) 1900-1912 Spalding Baseball guides. These impressive documents provide an invaluable glimpse at the landscape of baseball during the dawn of the twentieth century. As a vital cog in "Spalding's Athletic Library", these guides served an important purpose as one of the sole sources of information for the quintessential American game. Providing a wealth of written and pictorial information ranging from the major leagues and associations to the college game, the guides offer compelling insights, history, and statistics. Stories and photographs of many pre-war Hall of Famers, teams, champions, and other significant non-baseball athletes are prevalent. This collection originally belonged to a "Noah B. Kingery" and most guides bare his signature or initials. With the exception of the 1907 and 1908 guides, all front and back covers are intact, with most of them exhibiting some paper loss on the binding. The 1903, 1905, and 1906 guides also reveal minor tearing on the front or back covers. The inner pages of these guides are mostly crisp and white, relatively free of tears or other defects. Superior in scope, the A.G. Spalding guides captures those who helped shape the legacy of baseball.
