One of the best stories in baseball is that of Grover Cleveland “Pete” Alexander. As one of eight children, his future looked bleak from the beginning. The poor Nebraska farm boy debuted in 1911 and was an instant success for the Philadelphia Phillies. Injuries and alcoholism took its toll on the great pitcher, who won 373 over a twenty-year career, yet he was still one of the charter members of the Hall of Fame. Offered is a fantastic autographed index signed ”Grover C. Alexander” (d.1950, “9”) in blue ink. The signature was penned on a diagonal from the lower left to the upper right corner in large bold script. The index card was once in an album and the reverse of the index card has light paper and an “x” written in blue ink. The card comes with the Pete Alexander Perez-Steele HOF postcard and a COA from James Spence Authentications.
