Depicting (7) players who participated in one of the darkest moments in baseball history, offered is an off-grade 1919-1921 W514 Black Sox collection of (11) with "Shoeless" Joe Jackson. The seven participants in the "Black Sox" scandal present are #15 Joe Jackson (PR, corner missing), #3 Felsch (GD-VG), #31 Gandil (FR, writing on back), #35 Williams (FR, paper loss), #82 Cicotte (PR, corner missing), #91 Weaver (PR) and #105 Risberg (FR-GD, cut). Also present are four parties who were not involved in the plot including #23 Kerr (PR-FR), #25 Eddie Collins (PR), #60 Ray Schalk (FR-GD) and #112 Gleason (FR, writing). These cards reveal flaws commonly associated with the "W" series, namely jagged cuts, writing and creasing. Despite the technical flaws, these pieces still display well, revealing one of the most interesting periods of pre-war baseball.
