Earl Weaver will forever be remembered as one of the most fierce and astute managers of all time. The presented lot features two very unique awards presented to Earl Weaver by the Boston Chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America. Chronologically, the first is an A.L. Manager of the Year award dated to 1970. The tray measures 16 inches and features a Boston Chapter BWAA emblem above a customized nameplate. The surface is signed by Weaver as well, featuring a Best Wishes, 1970 inscription. Second is the Judge Emil E. Fuchs Memorial Award presented to Weaver in January of 1980. The award is made of sterling silver and features an intricate etched pattern on the surface and trim. Though a touch of tarnish is visible and one of the four legs is missing, the tray looks phenomenal, measuring 30x20 inches. An ideal lot for any Birds fan. COA from James Spence Authentications.
