Only a small handful of nights have shined so bright as September 6, 1995 when Cal Ripken Jr. broke the unbreakable record: Lou Gehrig’s consecutive games streak of 2,130. On their way to defeating the Anaheim Angels, Ripken hit a homerun for the second consecutive night, getting a standing ovation only to be topped during his victory lap once the game became official. Signed boldly in blue and black ink this scarce OAL (Budig) 2131 commemorative Baseball shows game-used attributes and sports the “Ripken #8 2130/2131” stamp. Featured on the stamped panel in blue ink is Ripken (“8-9”) with the four umpires (Al Clark “7”, Dan Morrison “7”, Larry Barnett “8”, Greg Kosc “8”) signed in black ink on north and south panels. COA from James Spence Authentication on the signatures.
