Eddie Plank is a name noted by most baseball fans as one of the “Big Three” in the T206 White Border set but Plank was so much more. He was the first left-hander in baseball to win 200 games, the first to win 300 games and when he retired he was sixth on the All-Time wins list. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1946 and relics featuring his image are as tough to find as any HOFer of his era. Presented is a superb large format artist rendering of the great man. This Plank likeness measures 19x22 and exhibits light signs of age and wear. This 93-year-old advertisement from Royal Tailors displays a light crease in the lower portion of the image and has light foxing along the outermost extremities. Even with the few blemishes, this artifact shows Plank in a well-tailored suit, cigar in hand and has fantastic eye-appeal. A secondary 19x22 advertisement of American author Jack London accompanies the Plank as the adjacent page from the original salesman sample booklet.
