While single copies of the Briggs Meats edition are elusive, uncut boxes or panels are nearly impossible to locate. Despite this scarcity, presented is a 1953-1954 Briggs Meat uncut panel of James "Pete" Runnels and Erwin "Bob" Porterfield. On second division Senators teams, these perennial All-Stars were among the bright spots amidst many bleak years. Measuring 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" this advertising panel reveals a 1" tear between the two Senators stars. The yellow type amidst a luminescent red background carefully reveals the splendor associated with this picturesque series. The cards themselves are in (EX) condition, with a faint grease marking on the Porterfield while the Runnels reveals a slight crease which is found only when searched for. The reverse reveals several minor creases which do not protrude on the front along with miniscule hot dog toning. Both the front and reverse maintain a slight wax coating which has helped protect this specimen from the elements throughout the years. For Senators or regional fans, this formidable piece is the proverbial collection centerpiece.
